Gatefold sleeve

This double album was recorded during five concerts in Beijin and Shanghai in October 1981, the first performances of contemporary music ever given in the People's Republic of China.
"Nuit À Shanghai", "Harpe Laser", "Arpegiateur", "Orient Express", "Souvenir De Chine" and "Jonques De Pêcheurs Au Crépuscule" were composed especially for this occasion.

The last 35 seconds of "Equinoxe VII" on the B-side are cut into the record as a new track. This gives the impression that the B-side plays 4 tracks, although it actually plays only 3 tracks.

The inner sleeves erroneously list "Harpe Laser" as track B4 instead of track C5.

Characteristics that differentiate this release from releases 344438 and 1455465:
- centre labels have "oriental style" fonts
- the "Gravure Jack Skinner/Sterling Sound" line has been removed from the inner sleeve of record 2 (the artwork shows a blank line).
