Note: The reason for the many personnel changes is that this record covers the wartime years of 1943-46. Basic instrumentation for the band was James and 4 trumpets, 3 trombones, French horn, 5 saxophones, piano, Bass, guitar, drums, and 9 strings. No strings were named on this release.
