"EL GRUPO FOLKLÓRICO DE MAHÓN, atendiendo a muchas peticiones, ha querido presentar esta homenaje a las canciones populares de Menorca o arraigadas en la isla y que poco a poco van desapareciendo. Son tantas dichas canciones que se ha hecho muy difícil la selección.
Gracias a la gentil colaboración de los maestros Marlen Coll y José Tortosa, quienes, hallando un hueco en sus múltiples ocupaciones, han accedido a ayudarnos en esta tarea, haciendo posible realizar el presente disco.
Merece destacarse el conocido terceto "TRANQUILA ESTA LA NOCHE" original del célebre compositor Mahonés Rvdo. D. Damián Andreu, autor de numerosas obras musicales.
Al insertarlo en esta grabación hemos querido, dentro de nuestras modestas posibilidades, rendir homenaje al ilustre maestro y dar a conocer a la actual generación tan bella página musical.
